Last night I went to a Santos FC match at Vila Belmiro. Santos faced Água Santa, and the legendary Neymar was back in action.
The energy around Vila Belmiro before a match is something every football fan should experience. The streets surrounding the stadium were filled with fans, vendors selling jerseys and merchandise, and bars packed with people enjoying a cold beer before kickoff. I made a quick stop at Santos Store to check out the jerseys and other merchandise – it's a must-visit if you're in the area. santos g santos match vila belmiro
Vila Belmiro is a historic stadium, known for being the home of Pelé and so many other football legends. It’s not the most modern stadium – the infrastructure is quite old, and the food options inside are pretty basic. However, the intimate atmosphere makes up for it. Watching a game in such a traditional football temple, where you feel so close to the action, is an experience like no other.

The highlight of the night? Neymar scoring his first goal since returning to Santos! The crowd went wild.
Another memorable moment of the night was the 10th minute of the game, where fans paid tribute to Pelé. A beautiful tradition that reminds everyone of his legacy.
If you’re planning to watch a game at Vila Belmiro, especially in the summer, be prepared for the heat. Santos is incredibly hot, and the stadium is open-air with no air conditioning anywhere. Wear light clothing and stay hydrated!
If you're in Santos, going to a match at Vila Belmiro is a must. The atmosphere is electric, and you can feel the history of the club in every corner of the stadium.
